Intro Setup How to play

Intro

Welcome to the LLamy help!

What's Maze? The main idea of the game is pretty old (it's taken from the game Lemmings (c)). In each level you have a few figures (llamas :). And your target is to bring them home - using items available...

Setup

After you get to the game (by executing the main executable, of course :), you'll see a menu with a few items. They do the following:
Start level - starts the currently selected level and enables you to play...
Load level - this item will show you a dialog, in which you can select the level you want to play. You can choose level using arrow keys (up and down) or by clicking arrows on the screen (using the mouse cursor). You acknowledge the current level by pressing "OK". If you press "Cancel", the previous level will stay to be the current level.
Settings - shows settings for the game. You can choose bit depth of the screen (16 bit is running faster on most computers, but the image quality is lower). By checking "fullscreen" you will have the game running in fullscreen mode (otherwise it is running in windowed mode). This increases the game-experience, however the screen-resolution will be 640x480, so you'll probably consider the image to be more blurred...
Exit - hmm. Probably this is the right choice, if you want to exit the game ;-)

How to play

Screen

After running the game you'll have an image similar to the following:
The top "line" on the screen contains items, that are (not) available to you. Above the icons there are names of all items. Underneath there are some numbers... They signalize to you, how many times you can use each item. You can choose the item by clicking it by the left button. The another possibility is to press a number from 1 to 8... If the item has number 0 by it, or has red background (or both), you can't use it.

The bottom lines contain informations about the current game:
  • LLamas alive [current/max] - "current" is the current number of llamas alive. "Max" is the total count of llamas, which are to be born during the game.
  • LLamas home [current/min] - "current" is the count of llamas you have brought home. "Min" is the minimal count of llamas you have to bring home...
  • Time [current] - "current" is the time (counted in frames) from the start of the game.
  • Start speed [[min] current [max]] - specifies the llamas' starting speed. You can increase the speed by "q" and decrease by "a"...
You can show/hide the FPS (Frames Per Second) counter in the top-right corner by the button "d"

    How to play

So, how to play? The llamas' start from doors, which look like these:

After a llama gets out of it, you can immediately tell her what to do by selecting an item and clicking the llama (by the left mouse button). In each level you have a different set of items you can use. However, they work the same in each level - and here is a brief description what they cause:

    Items

  • Walk - standard item for each llama born. If the llama gets to some wall (or a ground with elevation big enough), she turns to the other side. Also, if she doesn't have any ground under her feet, she starts to fall. If the falling speed is too big and she hits the floor, she dies - and leaves a bit material on the place where she impact ':-O.
  • Dig - llama digs directly under her feet for a while...
  • Explode - the timer starts ticking above the llama's head. When it's zero, she explodes and leaves a pretty big pit...
  • Stairs - the llama builds stairs for a while. If she comes to a wall, she stops the build.
  • Digger - the same as dig, but llama digs also in the direction of movement...
  • Block - the llama blocks other llamas comming from both sides (works similar to the wall :)
  • Climb - if llama gets to a wall, she starts climbing. Llama cannot climb walls which have gradient more than 90°!
  • Wings - this item prevents llama from dying when she's falling by slowing down her fall speed. This way the llama might get a bit further compared to a normal fall ;-)
  • Atombomb - sets the explode item to all llamas currently alive (=born and not dead or home).

    How to play 2

The llama dies if she gets out of the screen or she impacts too fast on the floor.
If she get's to a item like this:

    She's home :)
I guess that's all you have to know before you start playing (you'd came to this if you played the game for a minute :). Rock it!
